rite of passage...to ecuador

ecuador...it seems so surreal. i say that i'm going, but it doesn't really feel like i'm going, you know? well..until today. four of us went down to the kingston public health clinic to get our shots for the trip. the nurse sat us down for over half an hour to explain to us everything that we might need, the health risks down there - literally, EVERYTHING health related. talk about information overload - but in a good way. so i went into the little room, and i proceeded to get my tetanus, flu, hep.A and typhoid shots, as well as oral medication for malaria. i left feeling like 'super-immune girl' (the newest marvel superhero), armed with a stack of leaflets and with a head full of information. it was our rite of passage - we are going to ecuador. no stopping us now.
